SINGAPORE, INDIA, 4 September 2023 – Keppel and 星展银行 today announced that they have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to jointly scale up sustainable urbanisation and digitalisation solutions in Asia, with a focus on India given 星展银行’ increasing presence in one of the world’s fastest growing economies. The collaboration aims to accelerate the adoption of energy optimisation and sustainable solutions across energy intensive segments including healthcare, 热情好客, as well as commercial and industrial real estate.
The commitment is in line with the spirit of the recently concluded Business 20 (B20) dialogue in New Delhi, which focused on enabling Responsible, 加速, 创新, Sustainable and Equitable (RAISE) businesses to drive sustainable economic growth and development.
India is among 星展银行’ six core markets, and one of the bank’s top three markets for sustainable finance[1]. The country’s rapid rate of urbanisation is expected to have a key impact on its energy usage and global energy trends[2].
To help meet growing demand for sustainable urban solutions, businesses can access Keppel’s suite of 能源-as-a-Service solutions including high-efficiency cooling, 可持续能源和储存, distributed solar photovoltaic systems, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure, in addition to spatial programming and workplace solutions that improve building performance and uplift asset value. 星展银行 will offer financing solutions to help clients overcome potential cost barriers associated with the implementation of such technologies.
In addition, the MOU involves offering digitalisation solutions to 星展银行’ corporate customers. 通过吉宝的子公司, M1, the collaboration will explore ways to enhance and support the digitalisation journey of businesses in Singapore.
